Biography
Let’s start at first principles:
You must create a life worth living.
Each of us is born and will die. Entropy tells us time passes according to the currently known laws of the universe. This we must fundamentally understand and ruminate on from moment to moment. The first human instinct when presented with a situation of scarcity is to hoard. But there is no source to hoard from, no wellspring of time to salve our terror at the absence of it, and thus the black dog of death gnaws at the air just behind our heels. When we hear the clack of its teeth in the darkness behind us, we allow the darkness to drive us, to dictate our direction. This is the life of a beast and should not be tolerated by any human being that is the direct result of 400 million years of evolution.
What if, each day, you resolved to not fritter away one moment? What separates man from beast is the ability to imagine. As we slowly crawled our way to the plains from the primordial trees, the focus of the human perception of the world shifted to the horizon. The whirling meat machine of our minds created “here” and then “there”, “now” and “then” and “when” far before we possessed the capacity to even know what the concepts meant. Becoming dislocated, ambulatory, transitional. Magickal.
There is no human culture that does not glorify the power of the imagination. We all dance and clap and sing and express, despite any rules that might tell us that it’s undignified. The power of that creative impulse, the imagination as motive force, has wrenched the very locks of heaven open at our collective hands. You are capable of so many things because we are ALL capable of these things.
The curse of the imagination is that our lives hang along a scaffolding of narrative. Each and every one of us crafts our reality at a delay. We build stories to make sense of reality, but very few of us feel anything other than a tacit acceptance of that reality. Life is something that happens to us. I am going to tell you that is a lie.
Your perception is not only malleable but fallible. Your reality is an illusion, a wavering reflection in a pool of water. Forever craft your circumstances, bend your reality around the iron that is your will. This is how you create an existence you value.
Do you value beauty? Do you value awe? Do you value magick? These are the things that create a life.
The most potent pursuit of the human mind is that of power or privilege to survive and reproduce.
It is an evolutionary adaptation of sexually selected fitness indicators that has evolved much the same way that peacock feathers have, in that demonstration of fitness via physical feats or material hoarding have become a shorthand for power and survival. As with all things, the human mind can make an art of this hoarding, of grasping and holding to show dominance and fitness to reproduce. This will not change. In the form of trans-global power structures that control access to the needs of many through the hands of the few, we see modern capitalism strangling the planet to death while we watch, impenetrably terrified as the world burns down around us
I propose a transgressive conglomeration of spirit and mind, formed from an evolutionary understanding of imagination, the role that art plays in human survival, and how these two ideas can stand in direct opposition to capitalist isolation. I propose a system of magick shorn of tradition and boiled down to directly influencing your own mind and spirit to assert change in your life. This is not mere motivational speech but a holistic approach to the self that we will create together.
